Shatter

To coincide with the re-opening of Gales Wine Bar, Llangollen with a new chef and new menu, the management of the restaurant wanted a new look to the walls as well and commissioned me to make something ‘wine related’.

I often get lost with such open briefs, and really didn’t know what I wanted to do for the space, and in what medium. As a result of thinking about the big questions too long, I ran out of time to set anything interesting up photography-wise, so I turned to 3D.

I’ve been experimenting with fracturing objects in 3D space for an upcoming video project, so I turned those new skills to something wine related. The resulting set, ‘Shatter’, is a series of 8 25x50cm pictures, printed onto sepia paper stock from the 4k rendered files.
