Last year Ben Turner from The Waitress approached me to make a video for his single ‘Never Where I Want To Be’.
He sent me the song in demo form and we started throwing ideas about. I loved the isolation of the track (which was even more pronounced in the early demos) and came up with an idea of a sprawling narrative in an abandoned house, fragments remaining of an abandoned life. We didn’t have the money.
A simpler idea was born, which became even simpler again when we were let down on the day by cruel circumstance.
The video, as is often the case is better because of the limitations.
