Working with the management and chef prior to a restaurant opening is always a fascinating experience for me. Sometimes a clear direction for the business is established and a menu is ready to be shot, sometimes these things are still in flux. Either way, coming up with a visual style to represent the venue’s personality is still an interesting challenge.
Here we skewed towards the more abstract to create a bed of images representing the kitchen’s ideals of local produce and simple traditional food. These images gave the venue a wealth of imagery to launch with while their menu and identity continued to evolve through their opening and first year.
